Laying the Foundation
My take on business skills is that they are completely scalable and general best practices can result in positive outcomes no matter what industry you are in. Unlike other fields where you may develop key skills through learning, business principles remain more or less constant throughout your career.
It’s interesting to think about situations like a small family farmer who grows organic crops, if he wanted to get into large agribusiness what skills would be transferable? Likely mainly his business skills and not much else, between those two subsets of an industry there isn’t a lot of overlap between techniques and best practices. The true constant is business… knowing your product, understanding cost structures, having a go to market strategy.
My hope is that through my industry experience and evaluation of key market principles you will glean the relevant knowledge to be successful no matter what industry you are in or what career stage you are in.
